  • Writing 80+ monthly features (without payment) which analyse, explain & promote topics of interest, benefit or concern to the people of Lancashire and North West England. Mainly published by the Lancashire and North West Magazine.
  • Responding to the needs of Africa with schools, investment and ambulances.
  • Leading the campaign for Preston to achieve City Status.
  • Inventing the ‘Business Village’ concept & developing 27 projects nationwide.
  • Conceiving and organising 5 x Preston Maritime Festivals 1995-99.
  • Attracting more than £100 million of investment in the regeneration of Preston by way of grants from government, the national lottery and other sources.
  • Directing the Douglas 2000 project to help the Isle of Man switch from failing traditional tourism to a successful offshore finance role.
  • Leading successful property negotiations for: a 6,000-jobs inward investment to Bristol by Hewlett Packard; leasing a 1,000-acre site to import cars through Bristol’s Royal Portbury Dock; the regeneration of Bristol City Docks and financial rescue of Bristol City FC.
  • Innovative ‘managed workspace’ response to the St Pauls riots in Bristol. Later headhunted by NBIA to develop a 3 million sq ft nationwide network.
  • Conceiving, funding & developing the ground-breaking Town Square Shopping Centre in Oldham in adverse economic circumstances.
  • Leading the campaign by Councils, Employers and Unions to re-engineer the textile industry in NW England by action in Whitehall, Westminster & Brussels.
  • Attracting 134 inward investments by acclaimed marketing of Oldham.
